The leading producer in the village of Fixin, Domaine Pierre Gelin was established in 1925. The 13-hectare domaine includes holdings in five of the eight Premier Crus in Fixin, including full ownership of the famed Clos Napoléon. Pierre-Emmanuel, Pierre’s grandson, has been making wines for the domaine since 2000. Being environmentally conscious, Pierre-Emmanuel practises organic farming (although not certified) and works to minimize impact in the cellar as well. He aims to produce pure and honest wines – and he succeeds! His wines are well-structured and benefit from a few years of ageing in order to reveal their full potential.
